Head of IT Perm

Tell us about your journey at Concept so far.

After 7 years in industrial recruitment and a further 7 years in technology recruitment, I joined Concept in January 2022, leading the IT Perm team. I have taken on a very talented team who really do care about their candidates and clients.

Why do you love recruitment?

Like everyone else, I fell into recruitment, and perhaps spent some years not loving it! But when you embrace the brilliant bits of recruitment – speaking to different, interesting people every day, building relationships that last years, finding a good person their perfect opportunity – you realise that it’s one of the most rewarding careers you can have.

Why Concept?

Concept’s values match my own – I believe in being honest and decent, and enjoying your work. My message to anyone in my team is don’t chase a fee at the expense of your integrity and honesty – it will not pay dividends in the end.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I am a man of many interests – I’m a keen sports fan; I play rugby for Redditch, as well as many other sports including golf and football on a more casual basis. I am a huge music fan, attending as many live music shows I can. I also sing, regularly attending open mic nights, and once per year I travel to Italy to sing for my Italian friend’s band, with whom I have released two studio albums. I’m also a craft beer enthusiast, a film and comedy lover, and a keen thriller reader. And I am currently learning to speak Italian – ma adesso, parlo solo un poco!

Finally, if you were a film character who would you be?

I think I’d say Spiderman – always been a bit of a geek, but ultimately, I just want to be your friendly neighbourhood recuiter.
